Internationally Known Computer Forensic Experts Divulge Inside Tips and Trade Secrets in New Book for Techno Security

November 7, 2007 -The latest addition to The Training Company’s comprehensive handbooks, Techno Security’s Guide to E-Discovery and Digital Forensics is burning up sales. Jack Wiles, President of The Training Company and lead author, insists, “This book will set the standards in training for investigators, examiners, IT security managers, lawyers and academia. It is a definite must read for anyone connected with cyber crime or digital forensics.”

On October 30, the 2007 Techno Forensics Conference kicked off the Techno Security’s Guide to E-Discovery and Digital Forensics book launch at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD.

Stevee Ashlock was one of the authors present for autographs and photos. Ashlock’s contribution to the Techno Security’s Guide to E-Discovery and Digital Forensics, Credibility is Believability: Success in the Courtroom, skillfully radiates significant insight to the dynamics of expert witnessing in courtroom situations. Ashlock’s key points create instant credibility not only for expert witnesses, but business professionals in general. Ashlock concludes, “The techniques I share are universal for anyone in business. Those in authority positions will especially find this information a tremendous help. Additionally, college students desperately need to learn how to properly present themselves in their effort to establish career placement.”

Forensic Experts Need To Know More Than Computers To Be An Expert Witness

September 15, 2007 - International speaker and business coach, Stevee Ashlock, has been commissioned to co-author, “Techno Security Guide to E-Discovery and Digital Forensics.” It is being published by Syngress Media Inc., a division of Elsevier, Inc. The book is scheduled to be released at the 2007 Techno Forensic Conference in Gaithersburg, Maryland, October 29-31, 2007. Ashlock is currently billed a keynote speaker at the conference and will be available for book signings.

A recent newcomer to the cyber crime and computer forensic field, Ashlock has found an untouched niche. She teaches expert witnesses how to present their evidence and testimony in an effective manner where jury members can understand the necessary information needed to make a solid decision. “It is vital for an expert witness to establish credibility from the moment they step foot in the courtroom,” Ashlock declares. “A first impression is conceived within the first three seconds. This is long before the expert witness even has a chance to speak!”

Ashlock was a guest speaker at the 2007 CyberCrime Summit at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, this past spring. She delivered an informative, intense, but humorous, keynote lecture to her audiences. Attendees consisted mainly of FBI, GBI, law enforcement, government agencies and computer forensic specialists. Ashlock is confirmed as a guest speaker for the 2008 CyberCrime Summit, March 17-21, 2008.

In early June, Ashlock wowed her audience again at the Techno Security Conference in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. While there, she was asked to video tape a preview segment for the Techno Security website. It can be seen at http://www.Techno2007.com. Jack Wiles, director of Techno Security, has extended an invitation for Ashlock to join the speaker agenda for the 2007 Techno Forensic Conference in Gaithersburg, Maryland, October 23-31, 2007, and the 2008 Techno Security Conference in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, June 1-4, 2008.

Expert Witness Lecture Was Favorite Among Forensic Cyber Crime Specialists at the 2007 CyberCrime Summit at Kennesaw State University

March 24, 2007 - Stevee Ashlock captivated the audiences with her expertise advice during her presentation on How to Be an Effective Expert Witness: Courtroom Testimony at the 2007 CyberCrime Summit. The 2007 CyberCrime Summit was held at the Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, March 19-23.

With over seventy professional speakers, Ms. Ashlock’s Expert Witness 90 minute presentation was among the top favorites, receiving rave reviews. It was educational and entertaining – a major wake-up call for expert witnesses who testify in the courtroom and for depositions. After attending the lecture, one astonished attendee commented, “Your testimony starts before you even open your mouth! I never realized how important the way you present yourself reflects on how your testimony is perceived.” This was the general consensus heard repeatedly throughout the conference.

“The detailed information I give is pricelss!” Ms. Ashlock insists, “First impressions are made in three seconds. It is much easier to make a strong impact from the beginning, than have to paddle up stream to get back to your starting point.” Ms. Ashlock’s lecture covered topics such as: appropriate attire, body language and posturing, voice diction, presenting evidence, questions and answers, trial etiquette and procedures, court resumes and depositions.

Attendees consisted of numerous national and international forensic cyber specialists, law enforcement agencies, governmental departments and investigation bureaus.

Access Data was the Platinum Sponsor this year for the 2007 CyberCrime Summit. Other sponsors included; Gold Sponsors: Guidance Software, Clearwell and the 2007 Techo Security Conference; Silver Sponsors: Deloitte, Wetstone, Paraben Corporation, Subrosasoft.com, Emag Solutions and Digital Intelligence; Bronze Sponsors: Technology Pathways, Wiebetech, Nuix, High Tech Crime Institute, Chronicle Solutions, Enteredge Technology, Intelligent Computer Systems, Logicube, LTU Technologies, Backbone Security and VOOM Technologies.

Evidence Indicated Accused Wrongfully Charged for Kidnapping and Rape

July 19, 2007 - Stevee Ashlock was recently retained by Roddrick Mayberry as the Trial Consultant for his pending trial in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Mayberry’s trial is set for docket in mid-August. Mayberry is being held without bond for charges stemming from an arrest over a year ago. Criminal defense attorney, Leah Davis Maddson, resides over the Mayberry case with the assistance of the well-acclaimed criminal defense attorney, Dennis Schieb.

Ashlock owns The Trial Experts, a trial consulting business in Atlanta, Georgia. As a trial consultant, she thoroughly studies the case in detail by reviewing the Grand Jury indictment, witness and victim statements, police reports, crime scene reports and any evidence. Then she meticulously prepares the specific Voire Dire questions for jury selection.

During the jury selection process, Ashlock will carefully study each potential juror to determine who she would prefer to sit in the jury box. She must select the best twelve, plus an alternate. Ashlock declares, “I search out those who have an open mind and can listen to both sides of the story without prejudice. Fairness, honesty and common sense are the three most important components for a good jury member. Ethnicity, sex or age do not play a major factor in my recommendation.”

Throughout the trial, Ashlock will observe the jury’s reaction to the witnesses and their testimonies. She will look for inconsistencies and discrepancies in the testimonies given. Ashlock discloses that there is substantial evidence indicating that Mayberry has been wrongfully and inappropriately charged. “Most cases are very interesting and have numerous factors involved, but are not too difficult to figure out the truth of what happened based on the evidence,” Ashlock claims. “It is the jury that has the power to control the outcome of the trial. Therefore, the defendant rests their life in the jury’s hands!”
